It was an odd week, this past one.  I was in the studio Monday and Tuesday, the 11th and 12th.  Then I went south to Brush Prairie to visit my folks for Wednesday and Thursday.  Then driving back to Seattle Friday, I stopped in Tacoma for my last studio day there.  We had planned on working from 2 til maybe 5 or 6, but we ended up not getting done til about 11 that night because as it happened, I showed Evan a song I’d been working on that wasn’t quite done, and he liked so much he said let’s finish it.  So we co-wrote it and then recorded it.  Terrific!

So I had Saturday to get ready for tour.  Ran errands, among which the more important of them was to pick up my new (for me) guitar from the fix-it shop.  Boy, she’s a beauty!!

Sunday was packing and getting things in order.  Plane departed at 4:30pm, with one layover, due to arrive London Heathrow about noon.  Steve and I got a total of about half an hour worth of sleep in transit and arrived to Heathrow having not previously arranged rental car or accom for the night.  Took a bit to get the car sorted but got one and hit the road north, eventually headed to Rothbury where Rod Clements lives.  By 430  I was falling asleep sitting upright in the car.   We eventually limped to a Best Western in Rotherham where we managed to eat a huge dinner, have two pints each, and I was asleep before my head hit the pillow around 10pm.
